Here we describe how to set up an alternative Gmail address for a domain you host.
# 1) Set up email forwarding
The first thing to do is to set up email forwarding from you other email address to your usual Gmail address. For example say your shiny new email address is:
john.doe@feast.fm
and your Gmail address is:
john.doe@gmail.com
Choose "Settings"
# 2) Configure Gmail
Choose "Settings" from cog menu.
First choose "Settings" from the Gmail cog menu in the top right hand corner of your Gmail screen.
Choose "Accounts and Email"
Next choose "Accounts and Email" from the settings screen.
Choose "Accounts and Import"
Add another email address
Next select the "Add another email address" link to take you to the "Add another email address that you own" screen in a new browser tab.
Add another email address screen
Fill in the name and new email address you want to be able to use in Gmail. This will let you send emails from Gmail from an alternative address.
You will still be able to send from your old Gmail address.
Send emails through your SMTP server
Next fill in your MailGun settings to be able to send emails through your SMTP server.
Set your SMTP server settings.
Use the following settings:
SMTP Server: smtp.mailgun.org Username: postmaster@feast.fm Password: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
You will need the long complex password that you got from your Mailgun services. If you did not set it up yourself you should have been sent to you by whoever is controlling the Mailgun service.
And your done!
